Teepee teen getting back to nature

justin_burke.jpgI ran across an article in Friday’s edition of the Knoxville News Sentinel about a young man by the name of Justin Burke. Burke, an 18 year old, has decided (for the most part) to leave the headache of modern society behind to embrace a more natural life, in a teepee. Being of Native American decent myself, his story has intrigued, and even inspired me.

Burke has constructed a traditional Native American teepee in the woods just outside of Morristown Tennessee. He has no electricity, and no running water. He hunts his own food, and makes his own clothes out of animal skin. He is almost 100 percent self-sufficient, although he does work a job at a meat packing plant to save money to buy his own land one day. But for the most part, Justin lives in very much the same way that my ancestors lived just a few hundred years ago. Through research and hands on experience, he has mastered the primitive skills necessary to live his life in such a way.

Man, this kid has some guts! He has looked the beast of modern society right in the eyes, and reject it and all it’s creature comforts.  Think about it… no commercial pumping televisions, no computers, no iPods, no noisy cars, no factory processed food, just the peace and health of nature. I think that is freaking awesome!

I don’t know if my family will every be able to go completely native as Burke has, but I do want us to live a more natural, and more sustainable lifestyle one day.  I have been doing some reasearch on sustainable or “green” living. I like the idea of growing our own food, and using the renewable energy that is all around us (like the sun and wind). Maybe one day we’ll be able cut the cords, and go off the grid.

My reptilian neighbor

Northern Brown SnakeI ran across this little guy (or gal) under my carport yesterday. I believe he is a Northern Brown Snake. They are a completely harmless variety of snake that is very common, and wide spread across the United States.

It was an unusually warm day for this time of year yesterday, so I guess my little friend seized the opportunity to catch some rays. I ran inside and got my camera, and he was cooperative enough to let me get some shots of him. He or she (I’m not really sure how to tell the difference) is actually quite cute. Snakes get a bad rep. Most snakes are completely harmless to humans. And even the ones that are potentially dangerous, the last thing in the world that they want is a confrontation with a human. They are afraid of us, and avoid us like the plague. Just respect them and give them their space, and you will be fine. There is no point to harming a snake. If anything it would do you a disservice. Without snakes, the predator/prey balance would be upset, and we would be overrun with truly destructive creatures like rats and such. We need them, and they are no threat to us.

Anyway, after a few photos were taken, I left my little friend alone, and he went about his business. There are some more photos in the Urban Wildlife Gallery, if anyone is interested.

SpiritfX.com a “terrorist website?”

If this wasn’t really happening, I would probably be laughing at the very thought of it, but it is happening, and it’s no joke. In a House Homeland Security Subcommittee hearing on “Terrorism and the Internet” last Tuesday, 9/11 Truth sites were presented along side web sites that offer training in terrorist tactics, and a website that glorified the attack of September the 11th. Basically, they are trying to brand anyone who doesn’t by their official story as a terrorist.

This really shows desperation on their part. They can’t debate us on the evidence and facts, so the only option they have is to try to discredit us. But the facts speak for themselves. It is a fact that WTC building 7 wasn’t hit by an aircraft, yet it collapsed. Actually, it imploded, at near free fall speed, into it’s own footprint. As did the Twin Towers. It is a fact that Jet fuel, which is basically kerosene, cannot burn anywhere near hot enough to melt the tempered steel skeleton of a modern skyscraper. It is a fact the N.O.R.A.D. was conducting war game exercises of hijacked air liners being flown into buildings on the very day of the attacks, and subsequently stood down. It is a fact that whatever hit the Pentagon wasn’t a Boeing 757. And I could go on, and on. It is the FACTS that convinced me that 9/11 was an inside job. They can call me whatever they want, but the fact is that too many people know that facts!

Don’t be afraid of them, my friends. Stick to what you know to be true, no matter what they call you, or how they threaten you. They are the terrorists, not us! They are the violent ones. They are the killers. So, be what you are. Be a patriot!

In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated, and scorned. When his cause succeeds however, the timid join him, for then it cost nothing to be a patriot. -Mark Twain

Using a new Wordpress theme

As of today, SpiritfX will be exclusively using the K2 theme for Wordpress. K2 is the most advanced front end for the Wordpress blogging system that I have seen to date. It has much better support for the plugins I need to make this site work. Not to mention, it’s marvelous use of Ajax to display archives, searches, and commenting without having to reload the page.

Besides all the added functionality, I think K2 gives this site a much better look and feel that the previous themes that I’ve used. I’m probably going to stick with this one for a while. I hope you all like it. Let me know.

Loose Change, The Final Cut

Loose Change, the Final CutLoose Change, the Final Cut is set to be released in just a few hours. I have seen the original, and the second edition. These films are outstanding! They put the information together in a way that will hold even the most comatose person’s attention. The attacks of September the 11th were an inside job. The evidence is vast and undeniable, and Loose Change is an excellent tool for waking up your friends and family. I can’t wait to see the Final Cut tomorrow. Check out Loose Change!

It’s not just me anymore

Today, my wife and I had a counselling session with our pastor. The reason for the meeting was our difference of opinion concerning the subject of naturism. I have never had a counselling session before. In fact, out of pride, I have always considered myself to be above the need for human counsel. Obviously, this is self-righteous, and down right dumb. The Word says:

Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety. (Proverbs 11:14)

So, reluctantly, I went, and now I’m glad that I did. I didn’t know just how much of a problem Dencie had with me being natural in her presence all of the time. It turns out that it bothers her quite a bit. I never wanted to offend my wife, but it looks like that is exactly what I have been doing.

Over all, I think it was a good meeting. Our pastor agrees that being nude and natural is not inherently wrong, but she does think it is socially wrong in our day and culture. And that’s fine. That’s her opinion. However, she did say that it is wrong for me to force Denice into a way of life that she thinks is wrong, and that as a husband and a more mature Christian, it is my responsibility to change in order to protect her faith. I have to be honest, I didn’t like hearing that. It hurt like a sharp knife being plunged into my heart. But now that I’ve thought about it for a while, I believe she’s right. To Denice, social nudity is a sin. It doesn’t matter if it really is or not, because to her it is. I can’t allow my wife to be exposed (no pun intended) to something that she thinks is a sin. I just can’t.

So, to make a long story longer, I am not going to be natural in front of her any more, with the exception of sleeping, showering, and sex. I will still be a naturist, but only unto myself. If I want to worship God as He made me, then I will go into the quite and solitude of the wilderness, because if I am alone, there is no one to be offended. And if I want to express myself, then I will do it with my writings, because my thoughts and opinions are still my own. I can’t change the fact that I have been set free in an area of my mind. It is simply what I am.

It really isn’t just me anymore. Denice is my wife, and her spiritual development is more important to me than this stuff. I love her more than life itself, so I am going to do what ever I have to do to not damage her faith. As a husband, this is my duty.

Pat Robertson sells out to Evil yet again

rudy_and_pat_294x178.jpgI have to say that I’m not really surprised that televangelist Pat Robertson has given his pretty much worthless endorsement to his pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, pro-police state friend, Rudy Giuliani. Pat Robertson, founder of the Christian Coalition, has been a sell-out in my book for a long time. I remember back in 2001, Pat was quoted in a CNN interview saying the following about China’s murderous one-child policy…

I don’t agree with it,” Robertson said. “But … they’ve got 1.2 billion people, and they don’t know what to do. If every family over there was allowed to have three or four children, the population would be completely unsustainable…. They’re doing what they have to do.

Doing what they have to do? Doing what they have to do! What kind of follower of Jesus Christ could agree with abortion, much less FORCED ABORTION! It is really a shame that so many Christian people look to this guy for leadership. The man’s moral compass is malfunctioning, and anyone who follows him will end up just as lost.

The sad truth is that many people who buy into the false, left-right paradigm will vote for a complete scoundrel like Giuliani, just because the don’t want some “liberal” to win. Well, I hate to be the one to burst their little bubble, but there really isn’t that big of an actual difference between Rudy, Hillary, Barack, or any of the other puppet candidates. They are all for bigger government, more control, more infanticide, more tax raping, more preemtive war, and the absolute destruction of our free republic. The only candidate, and I do mean the ONLY candidate that stands apart from that crowd is Congressman Ron Paul. He the real deal, and right now I believe he is our best hope for turning the tide, and saving this nation.

What Abortion does to Innocent Children

I have gotten all the images up in the “Blood of the Innocent” Gallery album. I still have some formatting and captions to finish, but it’s still pretty powerful as it is.

WARNING!

Blood of the Innocent is extremely graphic. Do not view this album if you are not ready to see violent, gorry images of murdered babies! However, if you can handle it, and you want to know the truth…

It hurts to be Judged.

I knew this would happen eventually. I mean, I haven’t been hiding anything, but I haven’t been volunteering anything either. One of the members of my church has found out that I am a naturist. It happened last night. My wife was showing one of her lady friends from church some of my web design work. Some how this web site was mentioned, and her friend inquired further about it. To make a long story longer, the cat was let out of the proverbial bag.

Now before you all start jumping to conclusions, I want to set a few things strait…

1. I am a naturist, and I am not ashamed of it. I am proud of it! The Bible is loaded with examples of good nudity. And 2. I have not been hiding or “in the closet.” Heck, I run a web site about (among other topics) Christian Naturism. The only reason I have not been completely open with my brothers and sister at church is to spare my wife the ridicule. I know how petty and cruel people can be when confronted with something that flies in the face of everything that their mommy and daddy taught them. I doesn’t matter how many examples you can show them in the Word of God, their traditions overpower the Word, and make it of none effect. As for me, I don’t care about ridicule and persecution. In fact I kind of thrive under it. I just wanted to spare Denice. That’s all.

I am well prepared to defend myself. However, it really does hurt to be judged. When your friends turn against you, no even giving you the benefit of the doubt, it cuts deeper than any blade can, and the wound doesn’t heal so easy. All I know to do is to stand on the Word, and to pray for them.
