After reflecting a little bit about the recent “boycott” of YouTube, that I was foolish enough to participate in, I have come to the conclusion that it was impotent and thus completely pointless.
In response to the “blackout,” YouTube has changed nothing, and really why should they. After all, we told them we would all (the minute percentage that actually took part in it) be back in a couple of days. I can almost see the higher ups of the Google echelon giggling in amusement at our weak attempt at sending them a message.
What the hell were we thinking? This wasn’t a boycott. If we wanted to do a true boycott, we would have slammed our reasonable demands down on the desk of the corporate pimps at Google, pulled all our videos, and not come back until every single one of our demands were met! This is how you do a boycott. It is the only way to get results, and anything short of this is a complete waste of time.
With this revelation in mind, I really don’t think it is possible to stop YouTube from descending into the abyss of censorship and fascism. The vast majority of YouTube users don’t give a rat’s ass about any of this. They are there for amusement, not expression. And without the participation of a majority of users, even a true boycott is ultimately futile.

I have to agree that trying to force UTube to change it’s policies of bias and censorship is probably futile, so I wouldn’t engage in a boycott for that purpose. On the other hand, I will and do engage in my own private boycott of their website, just for my own peace of mind. I don’t go there unless another prolifer sends me a link, and then I just look at what they post and leave. And I never, ever post anything there. That gives me a small measure of peace of mind, knowing that I’m not supporting a proabort corporation.
