Happy New Year!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I wish you all the best in 2008. Have fun, be free, and do something you have never done before! If you’ve never read the Bible, do so. I will change your life. If you’ve never read the Constitution, then dig that puppy up, and read it. It will show you how vastly different our society is from what it was meant to be. If you are out of shape, get your lazy butt off the couch, take a sledge hammer to your TV (trust me, it’s not doing you any good), and have some outdoor fun. If you’ve never swam in the nude (or done anything without the constraints of clothing for that matter), then do it. If you’ve never spent a night in the woods, then do it. Sleep under the stars, and enjoy God’s creation. He made it all for you.
Well, that’s my New Years rant. Hope it helps. If not, then pretend like it did. Have a Happy New Year, my friends.

Just read Anne Frank’s Diary

There aren’t many things that can make me shed a tear, but this book is one of them. Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl that was a victim of the Holocaust. Anne and her family went into hiding in Holland, when the Nazis invaded. They remained in their “secret annex” for 25 months, until they were betrayed, and arrested by the Gestapo. Anne, subsequently perished in a Nazi concentration camp, but her diary lived on to tell the tell of her life and the brutality that was done to her people.

My reptilian neighbor

Northern Brown SnakeI ran across this little guy (or gal) under my carport yesterday. I believe he is a Northern Brown Snake. They are a completely harmless variety of snake that is very common, and wide spread across the United States.

It was an unusually warm day for this time of year yesterday, so I guess my little friend seized the opportunity to catch some rays. I ran inside and got my camera, and he was cooperative enough to let me get some shots of him. He or she (I’m not really sure how to tell the difference) is actually quite cute. Snakes get a bad rep. Most snakes are completely harmless to humans. And even the ones that are potentially dangerous, the last thing in the world that they want is a confrontation with a human. They are afraid of us, and avoid us like the plague. Just respect them and give them their space, and you will be fine. There is no point to harming a snake. If anything it would do you a disservice. Without snakes, the predator/prey balance would be upset, and we would be overrun with truly destructive creatures like rats and such. We need them, and they are no threat to us.

Anyway, after a few photos were taken, I left my little friend alone, and he went about his business. There are some more photos in the Urban Wildlife Gallery, if anyone is interested.

Yours Naturally,
